I feel like writing a journal entry about Nnoitra Gilga is the fastest way to convince people I have the absolute worst taste of all time and lack basic common sense considering Nnoitra really is The Worst but you know, I just can't help myself when it comes to rat bastards like this one.

Instead of going through all the reasons why I shouldn't like Nnoitra, I'm just gonna talk about him in general.

I've been on his arc for a while now. Watching Bleach in bursts is the only way I can get through it since the writing leaves... Some things to be desired but we all know that. The anime was cancelled because the manga was so bad and bleeding money so much which is next level, but I digress. When I stopped watching last, it was time for the big confrontation between Kenpachi and Nnoitra.

I am living for this battle between them. Kenpachi became one of my favorite characters when I finally got to him in Bleach and I really loved how he lived for battle and that fighting really got him going and having stronger and stronger opponents to defeat was what he enjoyed the most. He even dampens his own reiatsu to make sure he can enjoy the battle since his reiatsu is so powerful that most beings simply cannot stand up to him in the long-run. Ichigo had a lot of trouble until he and Zangetsu started to get to know each other, after all. So the fact Kenpachi is going to be the one who comes up against Nnoitra is just perfect.

Nnoitra also lives for battle. He isn't super honorable about it and he isn't afraid to attack his opponents when they're down or to sneak up on weakened people and kill them, but he just loves to fucking Fight. He wants to find someone powerful enough to finish him off in battle and Kenpachi is the perfect person for this, and I just love that they're getting to interact with each other.

Nnoitra's design is pretty fucking awful and his proportions are all over the place. The fact Bleach used to make money astounds me because his height never seems to be correct from one scene to the next, but his general style is something I love. I love his weird awful snake face, I love his super long hair, I love that his Espada number is on his disgusting tongue. I love that his Hollow hole goes through his head and one of his eyes is missing as a result of it, and I love how the eye he has left, the iris is very small but a soft violet color. His clothing is so stupid though, like, the spoon hat? The curly-toed boots? Hate them. Stop doing this to him. Also I love his very skinny arms with their jingly bangles. It makes me stupidly happy that he likes to wear jewelry like that.

The UST between him and Kenpachi is so real. Generally speaking, the reason I even started to allow Nnoitra to grow on me is because he has Tesla. The dynamic between him and Tesla is so interesting. Nnoitra strikes me as someone who kills everyone who annoys him no matter what so you would think he would have offed Tesla a long time ago for being so up his ass about everything. Like the smallest thing could bother Nnoitra and Tesla would be there to destroy it, and Nnoitra fucking hates that so much. But he lets Tesla be. And I love how Tesla is so loyal to him, that he follows his orders, that he cares so much about his health and safety.

But I'm sitting here looking at Nnoitra's resurrection right now and losing my goddamn mind over this design. I kind of fucking love it. This is terrible. This is so ugly it's charming. His horns are so fucking neat, I love that they're uneven. I love that he has creepy bone arms and clicky fingers and that these giant scythes come out of his wrists for some reason. I love the golden marking on his face and the way his Hollow hole expands and connects to his horns. He looks so cool and I ADORE the music playing, this dramatic feminine vocalizing that makes everything feel like so much more than it is. This is truly dramatic and enticing battle.

Liking Nnoitra makes me the biggest hypocrite of all time but holy shit, you guys. This piece of shit is MY piece of shit.
