Those Zanpakuto Tho

I should preface this by saying that I skipped every other Bleach filler arc on purpose because I wanted to watch the canon material. When I started Bleach, it was for the sole purpose of meeting Kuchiki Byakuya before the live action film because I was impatient to meet him. That was a wild ride because we went from not knowing when the live action film would become available to American viewers to finding out that it was dropping on Netflix. So, Byakuya. I was like, I don't really care about Bleach. I never watched it when I was younger and I had no real interest in it, I just wanted to meet the character Miyavi would be playing. So I chose to skip the filler, because then I'd be left with the canon material.

But everyone told me I should not skip the Zanpakuto Rebellion. I was kind of already debating going through with it because I was told Byakuya has an amazing fight with Kouga, and then I saw Muramasa and was like, well I can't skip this arc with this perfect goth boyfriend right here in front of me. But WOW I did not expect this arc to be so interesting.

I mean the fucking. Okay, just to get it out of the way. The designs. The giant boobs on several of the Zanpakuto is just. Well. Listen. I know it's anime but for the love of God I wish I didn't have to keep going through this with this show.

But these DESIGNS. Muramasa is beautiful and unique, I love his design so much. It's so engaging. He's so elegant and princely looking and his fingernails are so cool and creepy, and I adore his voice so much. His aesthetic is fantastic. His release command is... Well. Wow. He's not the only one, though. I know I saw a shitload of people complaining about this, but I LOVE Zabimaru. Especially Saru. We stan Dommes. She's so pretty, her face is so interesting and cute and I love her hair. Her personality is fantastic. Everything about her is so good, I adore her so much. I want to WRITE about her. I know everyone mostly cares about Shirosaki and Senbonzakura when it comes to Zanpakuto spirits, but Saru is just too damned cool and the way she talks down to Renji is so good and engaging. I love her.

I know a lot of people hated Hyorinmaru too but how does it feel to be wrong? He's GORGEOUS, what a babe. Look I am so into this show based on its aesthetic value because that's its best value by far. Bleach... Has a billion flaws but a lot of its aesthetics and color choices are so engaging that it's impossible not to be interested in them just a little bit. It's really nice to get to see the spirits and I'm glad they're here. I wish they were canon but fuck it, I can write for filler material too. Why not?

It's really funny to see the narrative focusing on Old Man Zangetsu as the Zanpakuto for Ichigo since later canon made this complete bullshit but you know.
